There are six types Bronica digital camera available and each of them possesses different identification features. And to better give you a clear idea on the various types of Bronica cameras it would be best to discuss them separately:

1. Bronica Deluxe (“D”)

This was the first camera introduced by Zenra Bronica. Its key features are the following:

• There is a focusing mount
• There is also no advance crank
• Advance focus knob
• Speed dial
• Self-timer
• Double exposure control dial
• 3 stud male bayonet found on the bottom of the camera
• Focus lock lever

2. Bronica S

The second model introduced but was made available only in chrome. Its distinct features include:

• Fixed chrome focusing mount
• PC contract
• Mirror lock switch
• Distance scale and focus control
• Speed dial

3. Bronica C

This model was introduced while S was still being produced. It was also the only model made by Bronica that didn’t make use of interchangeable backs. It also the economical version of the S but has the features of D and some new features that would soon be placed on S2.

The identifying features of C are as follows:

• No interchangeable backs
• Shutter speeds reaching 1/500th or 1/1000th per second
• Double exposure control dial
• Removable focusing unit

4. Bronica S2

This model followed Bronica S but with additional features. The main change is in terms of the switch since it was turned into a removable helical type focusing mount. Its main features include:

• Removable helical focusing mount
• No focus control or advance knob
• With small release button
• No mirror lock switch
• Available in black or chrome
• PC contact

5. Bronica S2A

Bronica S2A is the internal modification of S2. And since the modification was internal no changes can be perceived from its external appearance. Its identifying features include:

• Designation of a serial number on the model which identifies it from Bronica S2. This however was changed into body number.
• There are also minor changes on the neck strap studs

6. Bronica EC

This model reflects the new generation of Bronica design. Its features include:

• Stepped electronically controlled shutter speeds
• Oblong battery compartment and battery check light
• Double exposure control
• Mirror lock up lever
• Locking PC terminal
• Dark slide storage pocket
• Split mirror
• Interchangeable focusing screens

Each of these Bronica models has their own specific features that are suited for various applications. Choose the one that would best suit your requirements.
